A step by step development

The story starts in 1996, when BIO SERAE scientific team decided to focus its research on the field of dietary fibers for weight management purposes.

After numerous comparative studies, they demonstrated the much higher ability of some kind of cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica) to bind fat compared to other plants. The fruit and the leaves of this type of cactus were already known to be traditionally eaten by Latin-American people, who could appreciate their unique nutritional properties.
